Coker Creek
Coker Creek is an intermittent Stream that flows into the Medina River in Eastern Bandera County, Texas about five miles Northwest of the town of Bandera, Texas. ==History==
The stream was first named for John Coker a hero of the Battle of San Jacinto, who received a land grant from the Republic of Texas on October 5, 1838. John Coker who also received a larger land grant in the Northern part of Bexar County, Texas, where he founded the settlement of Coker, Texas, never lived on the Bandera County land and it was later sold by his heirs to a man named Hicks and the stream is now sometimes referred to as "Hicks Creek".
